Questions about AA in Buffalo
How many AA meetings are within driving distance of Buffalo?
9 within 20 miles, which is how far this page had to reach to show you a full week. 8 are in Buffalo itself.
Is there an AA meeting every day in Buffalo?
Sunday has nothing listed, and the other 6 days do.
Can I go to a meeting in Buffalo if I am not sure I am an alcoholic?
9 are marked open here. An open meeting is the safe first choice if you are not sure, and they are labeled in the table above.
Will a meeting sign proof of attendance?
In most rooms yes, and the person to ask is whoever is chairing. Nobody will ask what the order was for. If no local group will sign, another on this page may.
Is AA religious?
No. Belief is not a condition of anything here. The literature is explicit that it has no opinion on which higher power anyone chooses. The steps do name God and a higher power, and what anyone makes of that is left to them.
Is it all right to turn up having had a drink?
Yes. Nobody is turned away for not having stopped yet. If you are shaking, sweating or seeing things when you go without a drink, that is a reason to speak to a doctor before stopping, not a reason to avoid a meeting. That is the same in every room on this page.
