Questions about AA in Pacific Beach

How many AA meetings are within driving distance of Pacific Beach?

Pacific Beach has 1 meeting in the list above, so it reaches out to 20 miles and picks up 18 in nearby towns.

Can I find a meeting in Pacific Beach on any day?

Sunday has nothing listed, and the other 6 days do.

Can I go to a meeting in Pacific Beach if I am not sure I am an alcoholic?

19 are marked open here. An open meeting is the safe first choice if you are not sure, and they are labeled in the table above.

What is the difference between a group and a meeting?

One, and everything it runs is listed above. A group is the set of people who hold a meeting, so one group can account for several entries in the week.

Is what I say at a meeting kept private?

No. You can sit through a whole meeting without saying who you are. Nobody in the room is a professional and nobody is keeping notes. If you would rather start somewhere quiet, a larger meeting is easier to sit at the back of than a small one.

Do I need money to go to a meeting?

No. There is no fee, no membership charge and nothing to pay at the door. Nobody in the room is paid to be there, including whoever is chairing it. Nothing on this page costs anything to use either.

Is anyone allowed to go to an AA meeting?

No. Wanting to stop is enough, and being unsure is close enough to that. There is no form, no referral and no minimum period of sobriety behind it, and you are a member at the point you say you are. You can go once and never come back, and nobody will mind.
