Questions about AA in Fort Plain

What is listed near Fort Plain?

46 inside 20 miles, across 9 cities. Every row says which town it is in and how far.

Which day is busiest for AA in Fort Plain?

Every day. Friday is the busiest with 10 meetings, and no day is empty.

Can I go to a meeting in Fort Plain if I am not sure I am an alcoholic?

37 of the 46 listed here are marked open, which means anyone can attend, including family. 9 are marked closed, for people who want to stop drinking.

What literature does AA use?

A text from 1939, which accounts for some of the language in it. Groups usually keep copies in the room and will lend or give one to a newcomer. A discussion meeting asks less of a first visit than a Big Book one.

Do I need treatment as well as meetings?

No. One is a room full of members and the other is a clinical service. Meetings have no doctors, no medication and no supervision, which is exactly why they cost nothing. A doctor is the right first call if the physical side worries you.

What is a step meeting?

A written sequence the fellowship has used since the 1930s, worked in order and usually with another member. They are read aloud at the start of many meetings, so you will hear them whether or not you work them. If you want to know what a step meeting is like, go to one and listen.
