Are online AA meetings as good as going in person?
Yes. A lot of people began online and moved to a room later. A room in person gives you the conversation afterward, while an online meeting takes travel out of it and makes an unfamiliar hour easier to try. That is as true across Mississippi as it is here.
Is AA religious?
No. Belief is not a condition of anything here. The steps use the phrase a power greater than ourselves, and members interpret that as anything from a god to the group in the room. A larger meeting usually has a wider mix of views in it.
